TATTOO REMOVAL – Q-SWITCHED YAG/KTP
The Q-switched Yag laser comes in two different wavelengths: 1064nm and 532nm. The dual wavelengths remove a wide array of tattoo pigments, wherein the 1064nm removes or reduces most dark-colored tattoo inks. On the other hand, the 532 nm removes or reduces the most vibrant-colored tattoo inks.
HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK?
The different wavelengths associated with this device allow for greater absorption with the ink of your tattoo. This absorption will allow the ink to heat up. The heating happens extremely fast, allowing the ink to shatter into tiny pieces where the body’s immune system can naturally flush them away.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
Typically, tattoo removal treatment will require an average of 4-10 treatments. This is dependent on factors such as the age of the tattoo and the ink that has been used.
WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED POST-TREATMENT?
Immediately after the treatment, we will apply an ointment and dressing. The area must stay clean. You can resume showering the following day, avoiding the treated area. If a scab forms, do not pick it. We will provide you with post-treatment instructions.
HOW SOON WILL RESULTS APPEAR?
In most cases the tattoo can not be seen by others. You are the only person who can find it because you know where to look.
