Comfort and confidence shouldn’t be at odds. At Washingtonian Plastic Surgery, Dr. Navin Singh offers labiaplasty in a private, judgment-free setting built around your comfort from the very first phone call.

We see patients from McLean, Tysons, Great Falls, Arlington, Vienna, and throughout Northern Virginia and the greater Washington DC area, and we bring the same dual board-certified expertise and attention to detail to intimate procedures that we do to every surgery we perform.

What Is Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces and reshapes the labia minora, the inner folds of skin surrounding the vaginal opening, and less commonly the labia majora. It is the most frequently requested procedure in aesthetic genital surgery, and it can address both physical discomfort and personal confidence.

Dr. Singh customizes every labiaplasty to the patient’s individual anatomy and goals. His approach favors natural proportion and function over any single standard of appearance, so results look and feel like a comfortable, unremarkable version of you.

Why Patients Consider Labiaplasty

  • Chafing, irritation, or discomfort from enlarged or elongated labia
  • Discomfort during exercise, or while wearing fitted clothing or swimwear
  • Discomfort during intimacy
  • Visible asymmetry between the labia
  • Changes related to childbirth, aging, or weight fluctuation
  • A desire to simply feel more comfortable and confident in your own body

Who Is a Good Candidate

You may be a good candidate for labiaplasty if you’re in good general health, have finished physically maturing, and are seeking relief from physical discomfort or a more proportionate appearance for yourself, not to meet anyone else’s expectations. A private consultation with Dr. Singh is the best way to talk through your goals and confirm that labiaplasty is the right option.

Dr. Singh does not recommend labiaplasty for adolescents, whose bodies are still developing. If your teenager has asked about this procedure, our practice is glad to talk through it openly and honestly.

Your Procedure

Labiaplasty is performed on an outpatient basis, typically under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your comfort and the extent of correction needed. Dr. Singh most often uses a trim or wedge technique to remove excess tissue while preserving natural contour, color transitions, and sensation. Surgery generally takes one to two hours, and most patients go home the same day.

Recovery & Results

Most patients take about one to two weeks off from work and strenuous activity while swelling and tenderness ease. Sexual activity and vigorous exercise are typically avoided for around six weeks to allow complete healing. As swelling resolves, results settle into a more comfortable, natural, and proportionate appearance that continues to refine over the following weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will labiaplasty affect sensation?
Preserving natural sensation is a central part of Dr. Singh’s surgical technique. He removes excess tissue conservatively to protect nerve function and feeling.

Will there be visible scarring?

Can labiaplasty be combined with other procedures?
Yes. Some patients choose to combine labiaplasty with other procedures during the same surgery. This can be discussed during your consultation.

Is labiaplasty covered by insurance?
Labiaplasty is generally considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by insurance. Our office accepts CareCredit.

How private is the consultation process?
