Ivanka TrumpPLASTIC SURGERY TRENDS

Plastic surgery trends in Asia tend to follow the rise and fall of stars.
In this case, rather than a Hollywood actress or a supermodel, the star in question is Ivanka Trump. The First Daughter is making waves, and in China no less.
A cosmetic surgery office just opened up in Foshan, China, called Foshan Yiwanka Medical Management Office.
There’s more than meets the eye here, though. Yiwanka is actually the transliteration of Ivanka into Chinese. Which means that this new office was opened just in time to jump onto this trend.

What Does This Plastic Surgery Trend Mean?

So what is it about Ivanka that is so popular, particularly to women in China?
As a representative from Foshan Yiwanka Medical Management told The Washington Post, “No doubt young women here want Ivanka’s big eyes, her pretty nose and lips, and her flawless figure. Her facial features, disposition, and appearance are perfect—no matter whether they are judged by the beauty standards of the East or the West.”
In the United States, it isn’t in vogue to ask to look like a specific star. Rather, people looking for cosmetic treatment in the U.S. focus on wanting certain features.
While it’s true they might have someone in mind when they ask for the surgery, perhaps we are a bit less straightforward about it.

The Rise of Ivanka Mania? Not Quite

While Ivanka Trump aesthetics seem to be popular in China, her brand in the U.S. has seen some hits. Some retailers have dropped her fashion line from their shelves.
It’s hard to say whether Ivanka fares better internationally, or even just in Asia. After all, Asian beauty trends often show some fascination with western culture.
At any rate, it seems like the First Daughter has made quite a splash around the world.
